I am an experienced software engineering professional with over 15 years of experience in the financial (trading) and robotics industries, I hold a Master's degree in Computer Science. I have gained valuable insights both as a hands-on software engineer and as a manager leading teams to deliver complex projects successfully.

I ended up not taking a full tutor session because I already had another tutor and he offered my money back. That was a sweet thing to do (we gave him some anyways) but he also was a nice-sounding fellow. Thanks Jean-Benoit.

Jean-Benoit tutored me on SQL several times throughout the academic year and provided consistent, high-quality lessons on the subject. I would definitely hire him again and think he is the best SQL tutor on the platform
- Andrew G. from New York, NY
Jean-Benoit really helped me to write some SQL statements. He made the problems that I was working with seem very easy to understand. I would highly recommend his services!
- Daniel W. from Mckinney, TX
Jean-Benoit really helped me out to understand my assignment better with C++. I was finally able to wrap my head around the concept. Thank you.
- Jean M. from Wesley Chapel, FL
JB helped me to improve my understanding of data networking theory and principles specific to a programming assignment. He listened closely to my questions and took the time to make sure I understood the concepts. I feel fortunate to have worked with JB on this topic.
- Jacqueline L. from El Dorado Hills, CA
Jean-Benoit was able to explain my professor?s very dense notes in a way that made sense. He explains things simply enough for you to understand. He also takes the time to show you how to break down a problem, step by step. I?ll definitely be taking more lessons from him.
- Shalini J. from Lake Worth, FL
Jean-Benoit helped me finish some of my Python Trading Algorithm homework. He understands the code, code structure, and how to implement the right code, with the right techniques. It was a pleasure to work with him, and I will be getting more help from him in the near future!
- Doug Q. from Cedar Park, TX
I really appreciate Jean-Benoit's help with my Oracle issue. Though we did not get all the way to a resolution I think we got far enough that I can get it over the finish line. Thank you again for your help, Jean-Benoit!
- John R. from Saint Louis, MO
At first, I needed someone to help me install the sample employee database on my laptop. Unfortunately, I had to go through several unknowledgeable tutors before finding Jean-Benoit. Jean was able to follow the instructions and install the employee database AND explain what he was doing to me. I have since reached out to him for assistance with writing several challenging SQL queries and he cut through them like butter with a hot knife. He definitely knows what he is doing in regards to MySQL and SQL.
- John L. from Morgan Hill, CA
Great experience for my daughter in operating systems. Thoughtful instruction that was easy to follow considering the complexity of the class. No trouble getting time for instruction.
- Linda K. from Boulder, CO
1) Dishonest. We started a lesson but there was a technical problem. He could not share his screen. We tried connect through a chrome extension. Did not work either. Ended up me sharing the screen. I asked to adjust the time, but he blamed me. He did not produce a single line of code during our class (Yes, Carl!). Still justifies his charge of 140$ per hour as appropriate. 2) Not prepared. I needed to code some parallel programming concepts (work scheduler, thread pool, etc.) in C++ using pthreads . I sent the problem set and stressed the problems I was interested. I ended up sharing my screen. So I did all the work; Jean just gave comments once in a while. It took us 30min to find a bug in a simple vector traversing and edge conditions. (Seriously?). When we started the work on thread pool assignment, he just googled some random code. He could not even explain it. 3) Not knowledgeable It was clear that Jean did not know how to solve any of the assignments. Stay away!
- George W. from Charlotte, NC
He helped me understand Samba server set up with Linux & Windows while walking me through correcting my errors and explained each step. I will definitely enjoy our next session.
- KJ D. from Lovington, NM
We reviewed some Unix/Linux commands. We also worked on a SQL assignment for my class. I'll probably see Jean-Benoit in a couple weeks for a followup lesson. During our next lesson we'll probably review how Java and SQL can be combined, which is something I have never done before.
- Douglas L. from Highland Park, IL
Answered all my questions, to say the least, he's wealth of information!!! Very easy to talk too, seems to understand very quickly exactly what you're trying to accomplish.
- Anthony P. from Lowell, IN
Explained a lot of the questions I had with a project I?m working on, would recommend JB for anyone needing help with Computer Science related topics.
- Tom C. from Berwyn, IL
Patient and able to think on his feet. Helped me very much to get a handle on a subject that was eluding me. Highly recommended and friendly. Would definitely work with him again.
- Joseph B. from Lincolnwood, IL
Jean Benoit is very knowledgeable. He is able to hit the ground running very quickly. We worked on dynamic programming and deterministic inventory problems. During our lesson, we worked efficiently to try to get me to understand how to do the problem and understand the concept.
- Henggao C. from Princeton Junction, NJ
print "If i had to describe JB as a tutor, let me ask you this question" print "I know he is expensive, but are you the type of person who will pay for quality / results?" def tutor(): answer = raw_input("Type 'yes''y' or 'no''n' and hit 'Enter'.").lower() if answer == "yes" or answer =="y": print "Suck it up, pay JB, and leave the session with a sense of accomplishment" elif answer == "no" or answer == "n": print "Goto wyzant, and choose another less costly tutor" else: print "You didn't pick yes or no! Please try again." tutor() tutor()
- Jay M. from Western Springs, IL
He was so great at explaining everything and breaking things down to make it easier to understand. I recommend him and will definitely be going back if I need anymore help! Thanks Jean!!
- Elaine M. from Chicago, IL
Jean-Benoit is very knowledgeable and thorough. He wants to try and understand the problem or issue first before solving it. I would definitely schedule another lesson with him.
- Nick Z. from River Grove, IL
