Cons: can be difficult when you are trying to do group projects. He said that i could get rid of someone in my group bc they weren't doing their share. Then after i had told the person, he changed his mind.
Cons: There is quite a bit of leg work - there's an assignment due almost every week. Things like resume have been done in 101. Though they are good reminders and it's always good to work up your resume, Dr. Orth tends to like things his way and if you don't follow his style, you get a lower grade.
This class is generally required for Animal Science people, so it doesn't really matter what we think of the class. Dr. Orth is the only one who teaches it at the specific time, so there's no wiggle room there either. However, Dr. Orth is a sweetheart, is rather understanding and tries to get to know at least the name of everyone in class (though that can get a bit weird since he takes your picture at the beginning of the year and uses his iphone to try to remember your name).
Cons: Should be an entry level course, assignments were tedious and pointless, class required no effort, group 'projects' were just annoying.
Very helpful with organizing a resume and cover letter.
Cons: PowerPoints often put up minutes before class
Good class, great professor.
