As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
Able to navigate deep waters and use watercraft like a surfboard, paddleboard, or kayak
Capable of passing lifeguard prerequisite exam (including a 550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread without hands, etc.)
Previous experience working with or teaching children is a plus
Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older
